My new teacher is so stuck up he wants us all to go to his university(chapman). He is alright at times but he always gets mad at me for talking and oh he wants my class to write a 7pg paper and 16 slide pp for 70% of our grade hes the type of teacher that puts us into groups and gives us points … and i hate that. i’m a more of an independent person..
well you have a point …
that 70% means we pass the grade or get held back
Teachers get so little time with their students. The good ones want to make sure they give you as much information and skills as they are able in that short time. When visiting takes the focus of yourself and others off the lesson at hand, your teacher gets upset. He wants the best for everyone in the class.
Chapman is a terrific school. I’m sure your teacher only wants the best for you, and that’s what he thinks is the best. I’m sure he would be delighted to hear you are furthering your education at any good school He must think very highly of you to suggest you are capable of succeeding at a school like Chapman.
I prefer to work on projects independently, but teamwork is a fact of life in the work world, too. I don’t know how many students your teacher has. When I was teaching, I had 150 students every day. If I assigned a two page paper, I had 300 pages to read and grade. I would guess that part of the reason for assigning group projects is to teach you how to work in groups, and part is probably so he can give detailed attention to the work you all do.
Remember to make sure you get a copy of whatever the final project is. Keep copies of all the reports you write from now on. As you do head off to university, you’ll find that papers you wrote in high school will provide you some basic research you will need. Between 11th grade and my graduation from college, I wrote 7 papers on Hamlet. I could not turn in the same paper, but I could use research I had already done.
Good luck. Trust me when I say that teachers who push you hard now will be ones you will most appreciate later.
wait if the 70% of ur grade thing is just cuz its a formative . . . then ur kinda overreacting
my french teacher is wayyy worse she’ll tell u ur stupid, in french, out loud, and it sucks when it was the people on the other side of the room, and she just feels like saying that i’m "tres impossible"
so theres like, what, 5 weeks of school left? stick it out, im sticking it out too (and when she assigns us the wrong page for homeowork, she gets mad at us for not correcting her and gives the ENTIRE class a zero! well except for this one genius, but shes never gotten a B before so that doesnt count) and at least ur 7th period teacher doesnt tell u ur the best in the class and treat u like ur his age (ewww) especially after he just got divorced (ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww)
