What limitations / arguments are there against the concept detailed and does it conflict with accepted theory that there may be multiple laws of physics for different multiverses i.e. one multiverse full of antiquarks, another without any, one where light travels at a different speed, another that is closed, another open etc etc?
Also, both from a physics and even a philosophical perspective, how would one travel between multiverses and would it even be possible? How would they be bound, especially if physics / governing rules were indeed different in each entity? Even with 4 dimensions we can’t even map our own universe due to relativity so how could we expect to map multiple universes in relation to each other?

My head hurts.

The universe might be all twisted in on itself and just be a speck of dust in your own pocket. The main problem I have with the idea of multiverses is this: ITS NOT SIMPLE! Remember Occam’s razor…given two explainations for a phenomenon, the simplest explaination is most likely to be correct. The heliocentric model of the solar system was eventually accepted because it was conceptually simpler than believing in epicycles and celestial spheres. When it comes to interpretations of quantum mechanics and "theories of everything" the same rule should apply. Personally I find it easier to believe in one universe governed by probability (or by non probabalistic laws that we just don’t yet understand) than to believe in an infinite number of undetectable parallel universes. Maybe I’ll believe in multiverse theory when it makes testable predictions that differ from other interpretations of quantum mechanics. However, when it comes to understanding nature I try to let simplicity be my guide. When I see an airplane, I just accept that it is an airplane and not a UFO filled with gelatenous chess playing monsters shaped like an airplane.

I started playing the violin when I was 6, and I’m now 22. I have played in school, outside school in private string ensembles, and was a member of the Vermont Youth Orchestra for a few years. I have had one student before, a six year old named Dakota, who made quite good progress. However, Dakota and her family moved away and I can’t find her parents to use as a reference. I am now a parent of a 9-month old and would like to teach part-time at home and have my sister watch my son in another room while I’m teaching. Am I experienced enough to teach basic beginner violin? I would consider myself in between intermediate and expert. I would inform prospective students that I am only qualified enough to teach for the first few years of their career…

You don’t need any sort of degree because you would be classified as a tutor. I would get some business cards made advertising your services and how many years experience you have playing violin. Also mention what levels you would teach. I know lots of friends who have been tutors or instructors of various subjects and musical instruments. Most do not have any sort of degree, just a lot of knowledge or skill as it sounds like you do as well! Good luck- you can make a lot of extra money if the word gets out that you are a good instructor!

It would help if you mention what area of the country you live in. It wouldn’t help if I offered you suggestions to several such organizations in Austin if you live in Seattle or La if you lived in Atlanta. It might also help if you mention which instrument you play. Cello? Violin? Viola? You get the idea.

take a class you can relax in that makes you calm since AP classes are stressful and french is too. stick with orchestra or choir if you really like one of them or take photography if you want to try something new

Here’s where I plan on applying:

Rutgers, TCNJ, NYU, Northeastern, BU, Northwestern, and one ivy league (Dartmouth, UPenn, or Columbia)

My stats and stuff:

GPA weighted: up to junior year, 4.02
GPA unweighted: 3.74

SAT- M: 790 CR: 700 W: 680

Pretty much all my academic classes have been honors or AP, and I took 2 APs last year (Eng 3 and Calc BC) and I’m taking 5 this year (Stat, Eng 4, Spanish Lang, Enviromental Sci, Psych)

I’ve been in choir for 4 years and orchestra for 3, but couldn’t take it this year due to scheduling conflicts (both are classes). However, I’m still taking violin lessons, and I’ve been taking them for the past 4 years. I’m in a volunteering club at my school, and I’m an officer. I’ve been in my school’s women’s ensemble, JSA, string quartets, and have been in the pit orchestra for a play. I volunteered at the hospital and at the library. And I have a job.
As for SAT 2s, I took Math 2 and got a 780, and I’m taking Lit and Bio in a couple months.
Also, I’m in Spanish Honor Society and
National Honor Society.

Sounds like you have a great chance for getting into all of them. DOn’t stress yourself outy about it, you’re starting early and planning ahead. I would finish taking my SAT’s and get your applications in as early as possible. Your grades are good and so are your scores, you’re doing plenty of volunteer work while going to school and holding down a job and your extracurricular activities are plenty. You’ll get into all or several of your choices. All of the schools you chose are very respectable in every field. Start working on an original, kick ass entrance essay and you’re set! Good luck!!!!

How about "Ashokan Farewell" by Jay Unger? It was used in the PBS Civil War documentary so many people are familiar with it.
