SHE MOVED THROUGH THE FAIR – for Acoustic Fingerstyle Guitar
Filed under: acoustic irish music

“She moved through the fair” is one of the most beautiful traditional irish song: its original author is unknown, but the modern lyrics were written mostly by Padraic Colum. Most modern arrangements of the song can be traced to the recording by Fairport Convention in 1968, who adopted the style of the song from the travelling singer Margaret Barry. Also of note is the recording of the song by Alan Stivell in 1973.
Here I try to play it only for fingerstyle acoustic guitar. This adaptation is mine and I play it with my McIlroy guitar, tuning in DADGBD.
